Safe Space Education – Professionals Hub

At Safe Space Education, we know that supporting children and young people starts with supporting the adults around them. Our training, supervision, reflective practice and coaching services are designed for professionals working in emotionally demanding roles across education and children and young peoples’ services.

We help staff feel contained, think clearly and respond confidently — so they can provide the best possible support to the children and families they serve.

Who We Are

Safe Space Education Professionals Hub is led by experienced education professionals with over 35 years of combined leadership across mainstream, specialist and multi‑agency settings. Our team includes qualified teachers, SENDCOs, safeguarding leads, accredited coaches and practitioners with extensive experience in leadership and SEND training, safeguarding and school‑based mental health and wellbeing support.

Our Approach

Our training and supervision model is flexible, relational and shaped around the needs of the individual, team or setting. Sessions adapt to what is needed — content delivery, reflection, safeguarding analysis, emotional processing or coaching to support next steps.

We create a safe, containing space where staff can think deeply, feel supported and develop their practice.

What We Offer:

Our supervision brings together safeguarding, reflective practice and coaching approaches — offering a calm, supportive space to pause, reflect and strengthen professional judgement.

For individuals:

DSLs, DDSLs, SENCOs, pastoral leads and senior leaders. A safe, reflective space to explore cases, decision‑making, emotional impact and next steps.

Group Reflective Practice:

For pastoral teams, safeguarding teams, year leaders or wider staff groups. Strengthens team thinking, resilience and shared safeguarding culture.

Consultation for Complex Situations:

Responsive, short‑notice or planned consultation around sensitive or high‑risk cases.

EMCC-accredited coaching to support clarity, confidence and professional growth.

Coaching offers a dedicated space to step back from the day-to-day demands of your role, think more clearly, and move forward with greater confidence. It is a collaborative process, supporting you to find your own solutions, strengthen your decision-making and develop in a way that feels authentic to you.

Coaching creates space not only to reflect, but to move forward with clarity, purpose and confidence.

Developing confident, reflective practice in schools and services

Sessions are shaped around the needs of the setting and grounded in real experiences of working with children, families and staff. The focus is on supporting professionals to feel more confident, informed and able to respond effectively in their day-to-day roles.

It is responsive and tailored, allowing space to:

  • Explore real situations from your setting
  • Reflect on current challenges
  • Build practical, usable strategies
  • Develop confidence in decision-making

Areas of focus may include

  • SEND and inclusive practice
  • Emotionally Based School Non-Attendance (EBSNA)
  • Supporting anxiety and emotional wellbeing
  • Trauma-informed approaches
  • Safeguarding and relational practice
  • Working with complex family situations

Sessions can be adapted for different roles, teams or whole staff groups.

Flexible delivery

Training can be offered as:

  • Standalone sessions
  • Twilight or INSET sessions
  • Half-day or full-day workshops
  • Part of a wider package of supervision and support

The aim is not only to develop knowledge, but to support staff to feel more confident in how they apply it within their own setting
